Arts & Crafts - Patty Omodt is teaching this class again. She is a master teacher with years of experience teaching adults and children (including teaching her own 8 kids violin!). Last year, kids were literally running down the halls to get to the craft class. This year Patty's gotten addicted to stained glass work.....so come prepared to create your own amazing and unique glass piece.
Fiddling - Each fiddler will be in a small group class with others at the same ability level. The small groups work on perfecting the tunes they've learned for fiddle camp by adding style and working on technique and intonation. There will also be a large group that all fiddlers will play in. Large group will focus on being an ensemble and learning to work with different parts and harmonies.
Folk Dancing - This is a great way for fiddlers to learn about the music they play, by dancing to it. It's great for developing rhythm, counting, phrasing and of course, listening. Best of all, this is a great time and everybody participates in this energetic end to every day.
Percussion - This class will focus on creating music with unusual instruments like the famous STOMP percussion group. We will use buckets, sticks, plastic tubes and other "musical instruments" to create a serious groove. |
